Pathology fees for the analysis of any tests, swabs, or other samples are not included in the cost of consultation. Prices are available on request at the surgery. The costs of these tests vary enormously depending on what is being tested. Patients are advised to ask the doctor at the time of consultation as to the likely cost of any tests being performed.
Please note: A cancellation fee is charged on appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.
Insurances
Where the patient’s fees will be met by private medical insurance, payment must be made upfront to the Portobello Clinic; it is the patient’s responsibility to secure a refund under the terms of their insurance.
Patients are advised to check carefully the terms of their insurance and verify with their insurer if their treatment will be covered. In all circumstances patients are responsible for the payment of their treatment.

Essential Health Screen

A comprehensive, 90minute assessment covering every key area of your health. Ideal for anyone who wants a solid, reliable annual check.

- Vital Observations
- Comprehensive Blood & Urine Tests
- ECG (electrocardiogram)
- QFIT bowel cancer screening, including colonoscopy referral (if clinically indicated)
- Well-Woman: breast examination and referrals for appropriate imaging (e.g., mammography, breast ultrasound, bone density scan, pelvic ultrasound, etc.)
- Well-Man: PSA prostate test and referrals, if clinical indicated
- Referrals for imaging and specialists, as needed
- Personalised health recommendations

Complete Health Screen
Deeper insights for a more detailed understanding of your health.
Everything in the Essential Health Screen, plus further insight into nutritional and metabolic health and a follow up call to talk through your results in detail.

Premier Health Screen
Our most comprehensive option for complete peace of mind.
The most complete level of reassurance, designed for those who want the highest level of certainty and early cancer detection.

- TruCheck™ Early Cancer Screening Blood Test and consultation
Pricing: £2,750 for Members and £3,000 for Visitors
Please kindly note that although it is also possible to schedule one of our health screen packages with Dr Neil Haughton or Dr Sarah Jordan, there is a 20% supplementary charge added to the health screen fee when booking with them. This is because they are the senior partners of the practice and in very high demand, which also means their appointments typically have a longer wait time.
